How to Jailbreak FireStick
The process of jailbreaking an Amazon Fire Stick isn’t exactly easy, but it’s not too hard either. I have broken the process down into steps that are easy to follow.
Just make sure to follow the steps exactly as they are written, and your FireStick will be unlocked in just a few minutes.
You may have seen some fully loaded Firesticks for sale on the internet. Most of the time, these streaming devices are sold for $40 to $50 more than the retail price.
You really don’t need to spend those extra dollars when you can do it all yourself and, as I said, “within minutes.” Also, I’ve seen people go to court because they sold jailbreak FireSticks.
Just follow the steps below carefully, and you’ll be able to jailbreak your Amazon Fire Stick in no time.
I’ve done these steps on a 2nd Generation Firestick with Alexa Voice Remote, a FireStick 4K, a FireStick 4K Max, a Fire TV Cube, and a Firestick Lite with no problems. In the last part of this guide, I will also show you how to use a FireStick that has been jailbreak. Keep watching.
Step 1: Install APK Downloader on FireStick
For free streaming, jailbreaking is all about installing third-party APKs on FireStick devices. These apps are not in the Amazon App Store.
You need an app that makes it easy to install third-party streaming apps. Because the Amazon Fire TV Stick doesn’t let you download directly from the browser (like you do it on your Android mobile).
Downloader is the app from which we will get all of our jailbreak apps.
So, here’s what we’ll do in this section: Use Amazon App Store to get the Downloader app.
Let’s get started right away.
1. Go to your Amazon Fire TV Stick’s home screen.
Note: Your home screen may look a little different depending on which version of the Fire TV OS you have.
2. In the middle bar, click Find, then click Search.
3. Type the name of the app, Downloader, into the search box.
Click on Downloader in the list of search results.
4. On the next screen, click the Downloader icon.
5. In the window that comes up next, choose Download (or Get).
6. Wait for the app to download, then install it.
Then click Open to start the app downloader.
7. Ignore any prompts that come up the first time you use the Downloader app. But if it asks for permission, make sure you give it all of them.
In the future, you’ll start by clicking on the part of the app shown in the image below. But we need to take care of something else first. So, move on to the next part.
Step 2: Setting Up the FireStick for Jailbreaking
First, you have to change a setting on the Fire TV Stick or Cube for the jailbreak process to work.
This is the only setting you need to change to get going.
You are NOT changing any settings or changing any core files of the operating system.
Most people have the wrong idea about how easy this jailbreak hack is. Even a computer isn’t necessary. You only need your FireStick, its remote, and a way to connect to the internet.
1. Turn on your Amazon Fire TV Stick and wait for this home screen to load.
Note: The image below is from the updated FireStick operating system. If you have the older version, it will look a little bit different.
2. To open Settings, click the gear or cog icon in the middle bar (on the far right).
3. Now, choose “My Fire TV” from the menu.
4. Click Developer options in the next window.
5. Turn on ADB Debugging first.
Then, click Install apps from unknown sources. This setting lets you get apps from places other than the Amazon App Store.
Note: On the older version of the Fire TV OS, click Apps from Unknown Sources and turn it on.
7. Click Downloader and make sure it’s ON.
8. Press the back button on the remote for the Amazon Fire TV. It will take you back to the window where you set things up. Open Preferences.
9. Open Privacy Settings.
10. In the Privacy Settings, turn OFF the following options to stop sharing usage data after you jailbreak Fire Stick:

- Collect App Usage Data
11. Click the “Back” button once. You should be back in the window where you set your preferences. Data monitoring is the link.
12. Now, on the next screen, turn OFF the Data Monitoring setting.
Step 3: Jailbreak Firestick
Kodi is the name of the first jailbreak app we’re going to install.
If you don’t know, Kodi is a media app that lets you watch a huge amount of free entertainment.
It lets you watch your favorite movies, TV shows, TV channels, sports, content for kids, and much more.
Yes, you can stream just about anything. You just need the right add-ons and builds for Kodi.
We’ll jailbreak the Fire Stick with Kodi by using the Downloader app that you just got from the Amazon App Store.
Here’s how to do it:
1. Open Downloader. Click the highlighted URL box in the picture below.
2. When this window comes up, type firesticktricks.com/kapk and click the Go button.
3. Wait for the Kodi 19 Matrix APK to be downloaded by the Downloader app.
4. Now we have to set up Kodi. Choose “Install,” then click it.
5. Wait until the Kodi APK is set up.
6. A message that says “App Installed” will let you know that Kodi has been put on your Amazon Fire TV Stick.

But before you start using your jailbreak Fire Stick, I want to let you know that your ISP and the government can see everything you stream on Kodi or other streaming apps. This means that streaming free movies, TV shows, or sports could get you in trouble with the law.

Follow these steps to get your Firestick out of jail:
- Settings > My Fire TV
- Open Developer Options
- Apps from Unknown Sources must be turned on.
- Go back to the page for settings.
- Open Settings > Privacy > Preferences.
- Disable Data on Device Usage Disable Get information about how people use apps

1. On your device, open the Downloader app
